RECEA networking

In the time vom 06th - 10th May 2013 several meetings took place between project co-workers and representatives of the Armenian communities in Belgium and the Netherlands.
In the course of the gatherings with the presidents of the federations of the Armenian organisations in Belgium and the Netherlands, Gevorg Minasian (FAOB) and Mato Hakhwerdian (FAON), as well as representatives of various Armenian organisations from the fields of Culture, Social Affairs and Welfare and the RECEA project and it’s work regarding the volunteer returnees were presented in detail by Karin and Alexander Yaskorski (AWO Heimatgarten) and extensive information and material for their work was handed out by them.
In pursuing conversations the participants exchanged experiences and assessments regarding the topic of the voluntary return in the respective Armenian communities. In this context the RECEA co-workers caught up on the work of the respective organisations and received important information about further contacts within the communities. Furthermore there were possibilities and perspectives for future cooperations considered.
On the last day there was a meeting together with Sergei Warndanian, president of the Armenian association (ARDIA), with members of the Armenian community Antwerpen. Also here the RECEA project was introduced and following the presentation a vivid information exchange evolved.
The encounters with representatives from the different fields of ethnic Armenian groups in Belgium and the Netherlands have extended the already existing network of AWO Heimatgarten with important contacts and offer the RECEA co-workers the opportunity to obtain helpful background information and access opportunities for their work.
